Episode 12: The Science and Heart Behind Star Therapy

When I started taking photos of the Milky Way it was because they were beautiful and challenging. I like a technical challenge. And I kept doing it because I was good at it and people were telling me I was good at it, nothing like those dopamine hits. But there was something more I couldn’t put my finger on in the beginning.

As I started teaching others how to create beautiful images of the Milky Way things started to click. Ideas that were flitting around the back of my head coalesced into fully formed thoughts that I realized were based in solid science and backed by studies.

I’m all about the marriage of creative and technical, and in this episode we bring together both the science and the heart of Milky Way photography in a way that is so satisfying.

When you are done listening to this episode you will know:

  • How the change in the senses we use at night vs day affects everything about our experience.

  • Why night photography can start to be a bit addictive and why I don’t think that’s a bad thing

  • How night photography enhances our creativity (And not in the way you think!)

When you finish listening, I'd love to hear your biggest takeaway from today’s episode. Take a screenshot of you listening on your device, share it to your Instagram or facebook stories and tag me. @kristinerosephotography
